Minnesota Representative Michele Bachmann is calling for the overthrow
of the democratically elected government of a free nation: our own.
I want people in Minnesota armed and dangerous on this issue
of the energy tax because we need to fight back. Thomas Jefferson told us,
“Having a revolution every now and then is a good thing” and
the people—we the people—are going to have to fight back
hard if we're not going to lose our country.
Hello? The Revolutionary War is over; if you don't like what your
elected leaders are doing, you can wait for the next election and vote
them out of office. There's no need to dump anything into Boston Harbor,
because the issue at hand is taxation with representation.
It's also important to step back and consider the bigger picture here:
the Democrats are in power right now because we elected them.
We, the people of the United States of America, freely voted to put these
people in office. Rep. Bachmann needs to understand that everyone else
in Congress has just as much right to be there as she does, and instead
of waging a war against them, she needs to work with them to solve the
country's problems. Because she's in the minority party, her efforts
may go ignored, but there's a reason her party is in the minority.
