The Taco Bell Crunchwrap Supreme is a tostada shell (flat fried corn tortilla)
with beef and nacho cheese on one side and lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream on
the other side, all wraped in a soft flour tortilla and grilled. It's really
good, but for some reason it doesn't seem to exist outside the Portland area.
It's not listed on Taco Bell's web site,
a Google search
yields only a couple of entries with no information (not including my own
blog entry, and soon this page as well). People in
Illinois, New York, Texas, Arizona and Colorado tell me they haven't seen it.
This made me curious, so I decided to call Taco Bell's customer service center
and inquire. Unsurprisingly, they weren't able to tell me anything, other than
that it's a test product and not available in all areas. If it's not available
in your area and you think it sounds good, you can call 1-800-TACO-BELL and put
in a request that they bring it to your local Taco Bell, although of course I
wouldn't expect them to pay too much attention to that.
If you're wondering what it looks like, I've taken a few pictures.
